01. PEEK is used in stepper motors
Today, we continue to enjoy the dividends of the second industrial revolution and the happy and fast life brought by the development of science and technology. The rapid development of science and technology is due to the fact that motors are an indispensable element of industrial development and play an important role.
The application of motors is not only expanding in power applications, but also in the field of control. With the increasing importance of control motors, the use of control motors has also increased year by year
Stepper Motor
Stepper motor is a control motor, which is an electric motor that converts electrical pulse signals into corresponding angular displacement or linear displacement. For each input pulse signal, the rotor rotates an angle or moves forward one step. The angular displacement or linear displacement output is proportional to the number of input pulses, and the speed is proportional to the pulse frequency. The faster the speed, the higher the internal temperature of the motor.
The allowable temperature of the stepper motor mainly depends on the insulation level inside the motor. The coil skeleton, as one of the important “hearts” inside the stepper motor, is naturally very important. The materials used for the coil skeleton of ordinary stepper motors are generally plastics such as nylon and PBT. The use temperature of these plastics is basically within 180°. If the ambient temperature of the motor exceeds 180°, these materials will be damaged by high temperature and directly lead to short circuit accidents. At this time, choosing high temperature resistant special plastics is the solution to the problem. PEEK material is one of the materials that can adapt to this harsh high temperature environment.
02. Advantages of PEEK materials
Compared with the above materials, PEEK has the following advantages:
● PEEK has excellent high temperature resistance, and even when used for a long time at 260°, it still maintains excellent insulation and relatively high mechanical strength.
● PEEK has lower water absorption and higher dimensional stability than traditional nylon, and has lower water absorption and better toughness even than PI.
● PEEK has excellent cut resistance, ensuring zero electrical short circuit during use.
● PEEK polymer has high purity and high strength, which allows for thinner wall thickness to be designed in narrow motor stators while ensuring insulation performance.
03. Broad application prospects
In addition to being used as the insulating coil skeleton of stepper motors, PEEK is also used in other types of motor insulation layers, cable insulation layers, motor cable power plugs, etc.
In 2021, we will set up an industrial design center to provide a full range of services including product design, mold design, proofing, and mass production. We will also transform into a provider of PEEK application solutions based on our previous twelve years of application R&D and production experience. We are graceful on the outside and refined on the inside, carving the beauty of PEEK with the heart of a craftsman. If you have a goal in mind, you will get something for your hard work. We will establish morality and speak for ourselves, regardless of where we are.
