PEEK5600UV | Excellent UV resistance, worry-free application in multiple fields

Ultraviolet radiation can cause many potential hazards to PEEK materials, such as causing color changes in materials, causing mechanical properties to decline, and reducing chemical stability, which in turn affects the product’s appearance quality, service life, and reliability in specific environments. In high-end fields such as aerospace, new energy, and 5G communications, equipment is often in a strong ultraviolet radiation environment, which places extremely high demands on the material’s UV resistance; in fields such as outdoor equipment and medical implants, improving the material’s UV resistance is also the key to ensuring the long-term stable operation of products and medical safety. Therefore, it is imperative to develop PEEK materials with excellent UV resistance. PEEK5600UV is based on the excellent performance of PEEK materials, and high-efficiency UV absorbers are added through nano-modification technology, with a UV shielding efficiency of over 90%. In extreme UV environments such as strong radiation, high altitude, and tropical areas, it can maintain highly stable color and no obvious attenuation of mechanical properties, laying a solid foundation for the long-term and stable application of materials. It has the advantages of good and long-term UV resistance, weather resistance, and a wide range of processing technology. Excellent UV resistance In the accelerated aging test simulating extreme environments, after 21 days of alternating accelerated aging with 340nm ultraviolet (0.76W) irradiation and condensation, the color difference of PEEK5600UV is significantly reduced compared with pure PEEK material, and ΔELab decreases from 18.81 to 12.33, effectively avoiding the problem of material discoloration. Good mechanical property retention rate Under the above accelerated aging test conditions, after 21 days, the mechanical properties of PEEK5600UV can still be maintained at more than 95%, far exceeding ordinary materials, providing strong support for product reliability and durability. Excellent comprehensive performance PEEK5600UV has the inherent advantages of PEEK materials such as high temperature resistance (long-term tolerance to 260℃ high temperature), chemical corrosion resistance, and high mechanical strength. It also has low outgassing, lightweight (density is only half of aluminum alloy), and flame retardancy up to UL94 V-0 level. Based on the above excellent performance, PEEK5600UV can be widely used in aerospace and satellite, new energy vehicles, 5G communications, industry, medical and other fields. (1) Aerospace and satellite Satellite solar panel brackets, drone shells and other components are exposed to strong ultraviolet rays in the universe for a long time, and ordinary materials are prone to brittleness and discoloration. PEEK5600UV has become the preferred material for shells such as antenna covers due to its radiation resistance, low outgassing, and lightweight (density is only half of aluminum alloy), which can increase the life of satellites by more than 3 times. (2) Outdoor components such as new energy vehicle electric vehicle charging pile shells and high-voltage connectors need to be exposed to the sun and rain. Traditional plastics (such as PA and PC) are prone to yellowing and cracking under long-term ultraviolet radiation, while the anti-aging performance of PEEK5600UV can effectively avoid this problem. At the same time, its flame retardancy (UL94 V-0 grade) can also ensure charging safety. (3) 5G communications and electronics 5G base station antenna covers, optical fiber connectors and other outdoor devices have strict requirements on dielectric properties (dielectric constant < 3.25) and UV resistance. PEEK5600UV can maintain signal stability in the range of -50℃~260℃, avoid dielectric loss caused by ultraviolet rays, and ensure communication quality. (4) Outdoor valves and sensor housings of chemical pipelines need to resist both ultraviolet rays and acid-base corrosion. PEEK5600UV’s chemical resistance and UV resistance modification enable it to achieve “zero maintenance” operation and reduce equipment maintenance costs. (5) Medical devices Artificial joints and dental instruments are prone to aging in ultraviolet disinfection scenarios. PEEK5600UV’s biocompatibility and radiation resistance can ensure the long-term safety of implants and improve the quality of life of patients.
