Compared with traditional thermosetting composite materials, thermoplastic composite materials have the advantages of high mechanical properties, high impact toughness, high damage resistance, good environmental stability, short molding cycle, and reusability. They are widely used in aerospace, automobile, medical equipment, petrochemical and other fields.
Continuous carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic polyetheretherketone (CF/PEEK) composite material is a high-end thermoplastic composite material with better performance values than most thermoplastic composite materials. It is widely used in aerospace, medical equipment and other fields with high requirements.
Jiangsu Junhua Special Engineering Plastics Products Co., Ltd. has gained valuable experience in the development of continuous carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic polyetheretherketone (CF/PEEK) composite materials. At the invitation of the organizer of the 14th International Forum on Commercial Aircraft Composite Applications, it has written a paper titled “Performance Research of CF/PEEK Composite Materials”, which was included and published in the professional journal of the 14th International Forum on Commercial Aircraft Composite Applications, namely the Journal of Fiber Composite Materials.
In the paper “Performance Research of CF/PEEK Composite Materials”, the effects of carbon fibers in different states and contents on the performance of CF/PEEK were systematically studied, and the friction properties of CF/PEEK and PEEK5600CF30 (30% long carbon fiber content) at different temperatures were compared. As the carbon fiber state and content increase from 20% powder to 70% fabric, the tensile strength and bending strength increase by about 5 times, as shown in Figures 1, 2, and 3; the friction performance of CF/PEEK at room temperature is better than that of PEEK5600CF30, while the friction performance of CF/PEEK at high temperature of 150°C is similar, as shown in Figure 4.

In recent years, Jiangsu Junhua Special Engineering Plastic Products Co., Ltd. has been committed to thermoplastic composite materials. At present, we have developed CF/PEEK fabric composite laminates, CF/PEEK unidirectional prepreg tapes, GF/PEEK fabric composite laminates, CF/PPS fabric composite laminates, CF/PPS unidirectional prepreg tapes, and GF/PPS fabric composite laminates for different resins and fibers to meet the requirements of different customers. The mechanical properties have reached the same level as foreign thermoplastic composite materials, and some properties are even higher.
At the same time, for CF/PEEK and CF/PPS unidirectional laminates, our company has rich lamination experience and can meet the requirements of customers for different layup methods.
